Our Sunday morning worship gatherings are a beautiful mash-up of coffee, liturgy, banjos, prayer, giggly children, hymns, and folks who show up wearing everything from cycling gear to cowboy boots. We value beauty, but we aren’t fussy. We like old songs and new hymns, and using the gifts of the folks in our community. We believe that corporate worship shouldn’t mean just sitting and watching a production, but rather, it should offer an opportunity for all of us to truly participate in experiencing community with the living God and with each other. ALL are welcome to join us!
You’ll find us crowded around the coffee on a typical Sunday morning, conversing between bites of breakfast until at least 9:35. Then, once everyone’s mostly settled in, we start our strange and beautiful worship with songs, readings, and prayer. For us, the service isn’t just a weekly ritual or a spiritual high, but practice: modeled after the way we desire to live out the Gospel on the other six days of the week. Each piece is intentional, from Praise to Confession to Passing the Peace, and nearly all led by regular folks from our community. Communion is also important to us, and we do it every Sunday.
It can be a lot to take in, especially if it’s your first time, and we encourage everyone to participate as much or as little as they feel comfortable. We strive to be a safe and welcoming place for those with questions or reservations about Christianity. The most important ingredient of our service is grace.
Whether you’re trying to find the right church for you or just visiting, we’d love to have you in our midst any Sunday morning. 9:15 for Coffee & Fellowship, 9:30 Worship Service. We meet in the Boulder Adventist building on the corner of 4th and Mapleton. If you’d like to talk with someone about our church, or anything at all, let’s get coffee.
